As from the start of the 2006-2007 Metropolitan Indoor Netball Super League competition we will be reverting back to the Indoor Netball INA Rule Book. Note rules are updated & changes may occur each season. 
Major Rule Changes
Net Abuse: Penalty pass or shot. Therefore out of play for net abuse
Over a third: If the ball is thrown from the centre third to the back net it is deemed over a third.
CHANGE = The free pass can now be thrown from the back net directly into the centre third.
Back Net: Players can shoot off the back net.

Additional Competition Rules to be read in conjunction with INA Rule Book
All Centres must field either a Ladies 1 or Mixed 1 team to play in the competition.
All Centres must field a minimum of 5 teams to play in the competition.
Any team that won last years Summer league Metro Netball competition and has 4 or more players from that team playing this year must go up a grade. (committees discretion)
Centres that have all teams in a grade can field a second side in another grade. (Once cleared by the committee)
EG: A centre that has Ladies 1 to 6 can field a 2nd team in Division 1,2,3,4 or 5.
Centres that have 2 teams in 1 grade can not play across grades. Except Ladies 6 teams can borrow 1 player per game & the said player can only play across once during the competition. (Not in the Final series).
* Centres that have 2 teams in one grade:
The team that is placed higher on the points table must be played first unless mutually decided by centres playing.
The Co-coordinators have the right to re-grade any team they feel has not been graded appropriately at any stage .

Points
Win 3
Draw 2
Loss 0
Loss on forfeit -2 points
Win on forfeit team receives 3 points plus maximum skins and the maximum goals scored for that round and the minimum goals against (F/A) for that round.
Losing team in reverse, Maximum goals against & minimum goals for PLUS a deduction of 2 points.
Skins
1 point awarded for every quarter won.

In the event of two teams finishing on equal points the team will be ranked in order of:
1.       Highest number of wins, then draws
2.       Highest number of skins
3.       Highest goal average

If any team walks from the court before the end of the match, the game will deemed a forfeit and 5 match points will be deducted from the offending team.

Skins
·         One (1) point is awarded for every quarter won.
·         If the quarter is tied the points carry over to the winner of the next quarter.
·         If the last quarter is tied the point will be awarded to the winner of the previous skin.

If a team has won on forfeit, all players that have played before the forfeit round has occurred will automatically qualify for that round.
Plus any new players that have signed onto the score-sheet on the day.
Any team that Forfeits must pay a double game payment.
Team Rankings ( 3 Separate Competitions )

(Centres can only field a ladies 6 if all their other grades are fielded first.)

NOTE: A player must play 5 games in any 1 grade per competition to qualify for the finals.
Players may only play 3 games out of their registered grade in a higher grade.
If a 4th game is played that player will automatically go into the highest grade that they have played the most games in and and can no longer play in their original grade or lower.
EG: a player has qualified (5 games) in Mixed 3, that player then plays:
1, Game in Mixed 1, & 1 game in Mixed 2 plus 3 games in Ladies 1 The said player must stay in Ladies 1 & can no longer play in any lower division.
Further more the said player is only qualified in Ladies 1 & to then be Qualified in Mixed 1, must play (5) games in the Mixed 1 grade.
No player may play in a division lower than the grade they are registered in.

Penalty - Any team found playing a higher graded player will lose the game on forfeit and no players from the offending team will qualify for that game.

Representative Players
Any Person that has represented their State in Indoor Netball in the past 3 years, Open grades or Under 21`s can play no lower then Div 2
Age players 18`s or masters can play no lower then Division 3 (committees discretion)
Age players 16`s  can play no lower then Division 4 (committees discretion)
State League 1 and Men's Outdoor State Players can play no lower then Division 2.
Indoor Netball NSW has made it compulsory for all current State representative to be registered & qualify = 5 games in the Metropolitan Netball Competition.

Cut off Dates
(AS of 2008 competition) Age a player is at, on the 31st December each year. 

Player Qualification & Registration
Teams Can Register 14 Players in Ladies & 15 Players in Mixed of which 10 players only can be used in a game. (INA Rule 6.1 b)
In the Final series teams are allowed to use 12 Ladies & 13 Mixed qualified players.
Team Registrations Must be sent to Liverpool by Round 3. During the season if centre's want to register another player and there is already 14 Ladies or 15 Mixed player/s must be omitted before a new player can be added.
Once a player is omitted they can take no further part in that said grade or lower grade.

Final Series Player Qualifications
·         A player must play in (5) games in any (1) grade to qualify.
·         A player who has qualified for a grade automatically qualifies for any higher grade.
·         Players who play in ladies and mixed must qualify in each grade to play in the finals. 
Players may only play in one grade EXCEPT Ladies playing in mixed and ladies teams may play both as long as they are equal divisions & have qualified in both grades.

Once a player has played in any of their qualified grades Ladies/Mixed/Juniors, they are not permitted to take part in any other grades on that day.
Players must sign on at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to the commencement of the game.
Any players wishing to play that do not appear on the official qualified player listing must question if they are eligible to play at least ten (10) minutes prior to commencement of the game.
Any players that do not question their eligibility to play at least ten (10) minutes prior to commencement of the game will NOT be allowed to take the court.
Any team found to be playing a player not qualified for any length of time will lose on forfeit.

INJURY TIME IN FINAL SERIES
Injury time will be played in all semi final series games. Injury time is only ever taken in the last Quarter of the game.
A maximum of 2 minutes per player per injury.

Uniform Rules
To be read in conjunction with Rule 1.4
This rule will be applied at the commencement of the game by the umpires or before the start of the 2nd quarter.
or if a when a new player takes the court after half time.
The umpire must notify both team captains, allowing the team to change uniform or players before the infringement is applied.
The umpires must clearly mark the additional points onto the score-sheet and sign.
The Umpires are required to advise the centre representative before or after the game of the action that was taken.
If overlooked by the umpires the non-offending team captain or centre representative should approach the umpire at the break before the set time to apply the rule. (Discretion to be applied)

Uniform Rules
To be read in conjunction with Rule 1.4b
All Uniform rules will be in-forced from round 4.
Maximum of 9 point deduction or 3 players will apply

Skins can be worn under uniforms
Mixed teams/Players have the option to wear the men's or ladies style uniform.
NOTE: 2010 to 2011 season all teams from all centres must be fitted in full centre uniforms.
See below for examples of "same" uniform. Centres will be strongly in-forcing uniform penalties.
Black shorts all above knee not long shorts & hot pants.
Teams can not wear half shorts & half tights/all must be the same
Shirts all the same Not different colour collars, sleeves etc.

Nails & Jewellery
To be read in conjunction with Rule 1.4g and 1.4f 
No tapping of nails allowed - Gloves only are permitted
To be read in conjunction with Rule 12 

Signing On
To be read in conjunction with Rule 2.4
If a player fails to sign onto the score-sheet, when filling in for a higher grade, the offending team will be penalised a deduction of (2) points per player.
Centre Netball coordinators have the right to write a player onto the score-sheet from another centre if they have not done so.
Centre co-coordinators must liaise.
In order to qualify in any given game a player must sign onto the score-sheet & be in their playing uniform & legitimately ready to take the court.
Any Scoresheet that is submitted with less then 7 players signed on with no explanation clearly stated will lose 1 point for every player with a maximum of 7 points.
If a team is short the co-ordinators must sign off on the said score-sheet.
Any player/participant in a match must sign onto the score-sheet.
Failure to do so will incur -1 point deduction(from points table) for every player not signed

Recommended Times
·         Home centres should liaise with opposition centres ten days prior to scheduled date regarding game times.
·         Game times should be faxed through to opposition centre who should sign and return as an agreement of times
·         If centres cannot come to an agreement of times the hosting centres recommended time will apply.
Recommended Game Times 3pm 4pm 5pm 6pm 7pm & 8pm
If a centre has 2 teams in one grade there must be at least a 15 minute break between games.
This rule can also apply to to Mixed & ladies grades eg Ladies 1 playing in Mixed 1 on request.

All centres must provide 1 umpire per game on a home & away basis.
If centres can not supply umpires for every time-slot they must liaise with the opposing centre asap


Deferment Of Games
THERE WILL BE NO DEFERRED GAMES.
Games can be played before the set date but never after.
The exception to this rule is for nationals -
Any team that has 4 or more players away competing at Nationals will be allowed to have their games rescheduled.
Centres must fax the players name and team to Liverpool by round 2 if they are effected.

All teams must pay their match fee in full before the commencement of the game.
