NSW BLUES - NATIONAL CHAMPIONS U12 BOYS & U18 BOYS

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NSW BLUES

U/12 AND U/18 BOYS TEAMS

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 2011

NSW Blues U/12 Boys and NSW Blues U/18 Boys led a very successful campaign at the Junior National Championships in Melbourne winning their respective Grand Finals convincingly.

Both teams lost games during the rounds and finished second on the ladder, but were able to put runs on the board at the business end of the week.

The U/18 Boys are coached by Terry Small, and the team has three players who have made it into the Australian U/19 squad - Matthew Foster, Wayne Bull and Jacob Apicella. Well done, a great team effort. Josh Hilder was named player of the Grand Final.

The U/12 Boys are coached by Peter Curle, and have been training together for around 6 months, training every week. The youngest player in the team is only 10 years old, and the commitment shown by the boys plus their parents is to be commended. Anthony Johnston was named Player of the Series and was also one of three NSW Blues players named in the Australian AllStars team. Taylor Davies was named Player of the Grand Final as well as being named in the Australian AllStars team, and Bailey Dickinson has now achieved Australian selection for the second year in a row.

The NSW Blues U/14 Boys and U/18 Girls teams made it to the finals series also, and the whole NSW Blues squad worked hard for their State and made everyone proud. Jordan Browne from the NSW Blues U/14 team and Brendan Cleaver from the NSW Blues U/16 team were named in the Australian AllStar teams for their respective divisions.

The NSW Cyclones had an outstanding week, with the U/12 Boys finishing third after the rounds and the U/16 Boys also finishing third. The U/16 Boys lost the prelim final by a mere 14 runs and the U/12 Boys lost their prelim final to the NSW Blues. This would have been the first NSW Cyclones team to contest a Grand Final, and in the U/12's would have been the first NSW -v- NSW GF. Jacob Hill from the U/16 Boys team and Wade Burrows from the U/12 Boys were named in the Australian Allstars teams.

NSW O45 Men - National Champions

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NSW BLUES O/45 MEN'S STATE TEAM - 2011 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

After an intense week of Indoor Cricket at the 2011 Masters Nationals in Queensland the NSW Blues O/45 Men's team reclaimed their National Title. The NSW O/45 Men first won this title in 2008 and were the first winners of the shield in this division. Congratulations to Don, Lindy and all the players for their fine effort.

The NSW Blues were also successful in the other divisions - the O/30 Men were runners up to Queensland in the Grand Final in their division. The NSW Blues O/35 Men and the NSW Blues O/30 Ladies finished 3rd in their divisions, and the NSW Blues O/40 Men finished in 4th place.

The NSW Cyclones competed in the O/30 Men's (5th), O/35 Men's (5th) and O/40 Men's (6th) divisions. Congratulations to all the players and officials for a great job and a good result.

ISNSW would like to acknowledge and thanks Andrew Harris (NSW Blues) and Graeme Dore (NSW Cyclones) for the great job that they both did as Tour Managers for the NSW Blues and NSW Cyclones. There is a lot of behind the scenes work that is done by these guys and their efforts are very much appreciated.
